One-of-a-Kind Furniture From a Swedish Village

By ELAINE LOUIE

Priscilla, a 1950s rosewood chair covered in linen with a mohair velvet pattern, is one of the latest pieces created by Adam & Viktoria, a Swedish textile and furniture design firm run by Adam Gistedt and Viktoria Nygren. Mr. Gistedt, 38, and Ms. Nygren, 37 — who also live together and have children together — upholster one-of-a-kind, vintage chairs in textiles of their own design. The fabric is made in Portugal, and the furniture is upholstered by the designers in their studio in Drottningholm, a village near Stockholm.

Priscilla, above, is $3,900; the fabric can also be ordered separately, for $365 a yard (with a five-yard minimum), or requested as upholstery on another vintage piece. Information: (505) 872-1929 or lisafontanarosa.com.
