Melamine is one of finishing material that is widely used by furniture craftsmen. Furniture products must be coated melamine to make it looks more beautiful. Melamine was chosen because the quality of the final result is indeed looks good. The look of the furniture will be more beautiful, elegant and smooth. Many people like this material for finishing. But how to apply melamine is not as easy when using others finishing type. There are several steps that you will prepare to apply finishing melamine:
First, putty the defective part of the wood such as in dead eyes, hearts, holes, etc. For the type of glue used for caulking, it is recommended to use glue that contains resin and hardener to be strong and not easily broken. This glue is widely sold in building shops.

Second, sanding or scrubbing wood using scouring paper to get flat wood surface. However, make sure the putty is completely dry before you rub it. You should rub it until your furniture got flat, it doesn’t need to be very smooth, just to be flat. This initial stage must be truly maximal because the quality of the final result will be determined by this stage.
Third is the wood filler stage. At this stage you have to rub the wood surface with wood filler material to close the wood pores. After that you have to dry it till very dry, then rub it again clean.
The four stages is sanding. You must apply sanding sealer that has been mixed with tinner. Apply until evenly distributed, then dry. After drying, observe the wood. If there are still wood pores, cover using thick wood filler without mixture. Rub again with scrub paper.
The five stages is coloring. At this stage you can use spray or spet methods. Then dry and spray with sanding sealer, allow it to dry. After drying, rub again using paper scrubbing water and proceed with melamine clear spray, or doss or glossy, according to your needs.
Finish the finishing stage of your furniture. Dry until ready to use or sell.
