Choosing the Right Armchair

Many things you can do to produce accents and “statements” in your room. Most people may think that paint, sofa, or floor are the elements that determine a style in a room. However, you can use an armchair or single arm chair to create a rich look. From size, style, to color, you can play with it on your chair. Some of these tips will give you some input in determining the right armchair for your room.

Take Note to The Size
There are three things you need to take note in measuring your new chair, include depth, height, and floor area that will be occupied. A good first step is to complement the size of other furniture around it. Once you know where your chair is going, measure the space and consider what length, depth and height you should play. Check and make sure the chair is proportional to the space. Too high chair can protrude too much and obstruct the view. While too big and fat chair can mess up the accents and grand scheme of a room.

Choose the right design
The shape of the chair is not present just for display. If your floor is minimalist, a chair with curved backrest will be suitable for a corner of the room. Curved and slightly textured furniture is perfect for a clean and modern room. Decide how you want the seat back to be. Do you want a straight back or a lower one for lying down.

Make it as a display reinforcer
Although the chair classified as furniture which is not too big, you can still play the chair to emphasize the impression of the room. The key to get a bold impression is to use contrast, it can be in size, shape, or color. But it is not necessary to present all three. Another way is to pair it with a sofa. It would be great to combine and match your chair with a sofa even if it’s not in the same style.

Determine the location
Before you go shopping, decide where you want to put your new chair and what you want it to serve. Chairs for the elderly should be comfortable and safe. If you’re more adventurous, chairs with bold shapes, patterns and colors will suit you. Chairs for your bedroom are of course different from your bedroom.

Choose cheap or quality?
Spend money or save? Parents say, if you want quality then spend more money. Especially for furniture which for some people is an investment. If you are looking to invest in the long term, expect to spend more money for higher quality materials and design standards. Chairs can be useful inheritance. So don’t be too hesitant to buy a high quality chair.

Color and texture
Choosing a bright, bold color may seem too risky. Will the chair match the style of your room? Or what if one day you will get bored with the color? It all depends on your choice and taste. If you want to play it safe, just choose a neutral color or pattern. But if neutrals seem boring, just pick what the highlight one. Just choose what you like. It’s a great way to explore your personality. Don’t feel as though color is the only way to create an accent, especially when you’ve considered the shape and size of the chair.

Resistance
If you have decided to invest in a long-term chair, be sure to check the frame material. Wood is the most common and affordable. However wood varies. Some woods have good strength, such as teak, mahogany, ironwood. However, softwood types such as pine and beech are more beautiful and expensive, but not as strong. Iron frames however are the strongest and most durable compared to wood. But tend to be heavy and expensive.

What material is it made of?
Fabric or textile is the main determinant of a furniture design. In addition to the fact that the right material can help determine the style of a room, the material of the fabric also has an impact on the price and age of the object. Leather, for example, is a more expensive option but creates a timeless look. When you shop, ask about the care and durability of the fabric.
