DOC delays release of antidumping duties review

Thomas Russell — Furniture Today,
WASHINGTON — The U.S. Department of Commerce has postponed until Aug. 8 the release of the final results of the first administrative review of antidumping duties on wood bedroom furniture from China.

Results had been scheduled to become available June 9, but DOC officials said they needed more time to verify and analyze information. The DOC said it also wants to have more time to receive and analyze comments by interested parties on the preliminary results.

The review covers wood bedroom furniture shipments made to the United States from China between June 24, 2004, and Dec. 31, 2012. The process will determine the final duties assigned to each Chinese factory that shipped wood bedroom products.

The new deadline also applies to new shipper reviews, referring to Chinese companies that shipped product to the United States for the first time between June 24, 2004, and Dec. 31, 2012.Â
