After 36 years with Dallas’ Baker Knapp & Tubbs showroom, the briefly retired Leslie Bell is back in the furniture biz. Word traveled fast when Bell (whose hubby owns Snider Plaza’s Mister Tuxedo) began helping friends sort and sell their family antiques. She partnered with At My Table co-founder Claudia Armstrong, and ESTATES & MORE was born. “I’m so happy to be making people sit in chairs again,” jokes Bell. “This is what I do best.”
The ladies now keep a Design District warehouse filled with a rotating stock Armstrong dubs “high-end clanky.” That means everything from a mod Le Corbusier chaise to lacquered chairs and vintage china from the estate of grand dame Dallas decorator Marguerite Green.
The warehouse is open Wednesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and by appointment.
