Getting to Know the Home Foyer

Placing furniture and decorations in the area near the entrance on the side of the wall can make your home more attractive and functional. Especially when guests often visit your house, this area can be a spot to store guests’ personal items so they don’t get messy, such as vehicle keys, coats, and so on.

Simply put, the foyer is in the front corner of the house and usually, this area indirectly makes people stop when they enter. However, not everyone knows this area as the foyer.

About Foyer
The foyer or some also call it the lobby of the house is a spot in the front room you step when entering the house through the entrance. For example, the foyer is like a landing area when you enter the house. Usually, foyers are often found in large homes and have areas for storing works of art or personal items.

Foyer Shape
Generally, foyers are used in large, formal homes or in luxury restaurants which usually require reservations. The foyer is not a must-have area that must be in every house. Often, a foyer is present when the house has many rooms. So, many small houses do not have a special space for a foyer.

The foyer also has a practical purpose as a needed area so as not to interfere with any activities or to avoid the risk of losing items such as coats, house keys, bags, shoes, or umbrellas. This area is also used as house circulation and connecting rooms and decoration areas. And, it is also used as the focal point of the house for the first impression as soon as you enter the front door.
