Hastings wants indoor furniture kept indoors

Associated Press

HASTINGS, Neb. (AP) – The city of Hastings is cracking down on residents who leave couches, recliners, mattresses or other indoor furniture on the lawn or on the front porch.

City planner Rich Cartier (CAR-tee-AIR) says leaving indoor furniture outdoors could result in warning letters and fines to offenders of the ordinance.

The city of Hastings follows the International Property Maintenance Code, which doesn’t allow for homeowners to have indoor furniture outdoors.
