Herman Miller to Buy Brandrud Furniture

Herman Miller to Buy Brandrud Furniture, Deal Expected to Close in February

NEW YORK (Associated Press) – Office furniture maker Herman Miller Inc. on Wednesday said it agreed to acquire Brandrud Furniture Inc., a maker of health care furnishings.

Financial terms of the deal, which is expected to be completed in February, were not disclosed. The two companies have shared a marketing alliance since October 2012.


Brandrud makes health care furniture, including seating products for patient rooms, patient treatment areas and public spaces like lobbies and waiting areas. The Seattle-based company is expected to have 2014 sales of about $20 million.

Shares of Herman Miller fell 83 cents to $28.42 in late-afternoon trading.Â
