Learn About Window Types And Their Uses

The function of the windows in the house is very important for air circulation. There are different types of windows, depending on their use. Therefore, the choice of window type should not be arbitrary but should be adapted to its place to maximize its function.

Double-Hung Window
This type of window has two large frames that slide up and down. This window is often found in traditional, classical houses. It also fits on the upper floors and is difficult to clean from the outside. The cleaning solution is to slide it down or swing it inwards.

Single Hung Window
Similar to double-hung windows, single-hung windows have top and bottom frames, but the frames are fixed. This type of window is cheaper than double-hung windows. It is also easier to clean than other types. It is suitable for installation on the first floor of a house because it can be cleaned from the outside.

Casement Window
Suitable for modern or contemporary homes it opens and closes like a door. There are hinges and latches to open, close, and lock the window. When closed tightly, this window effectively blocks the wind.

Awning Window
Because of its position at the top, this type of window is suitable for installation in the basement or kitchen. The window frame can be left open and can retain water when it rains. Just like casement windows, awning windows use hinges to open and close, so they need more maintenance.

Slider Window
Sliding windows are suitable for modern homes, tall buildings, and rooms with wide walls. All you have to do is slide the window frame horizontally to open it. This type of window is easy to maintain as there are no hinges. However, dirt and dust often stick to the sash, so it needs to be cleaned regularly.

Fixed Window
Suitable for modern homes and high-rise buildings. Fixed windows cannot be opened or closed as the panes are sealed in the frame. This type of window provides a wide and adequate view or light, but cannot let in fresh air.
