Room Decorations for Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year celebrations are coming soon. Like previous years, for those of you who will celebrate Chinese New Year, of course, you have started to prepare to decorate your home with various typical Chinese New Year accessories. In addition to beautifying the room, Chinese New Year decorations can bring positive energy into the house.

Red Lanterns
Red is the characteristic color of the Chinese New Year. This color can be found on lanterns in various places, such as at home, on the streets, in shops or shopping centers, and in hotels. Red lanterns symbolize warding off disaster, depicting hope in the new year, and are believed to be able to ward off bad luck. These red lanterns can be used on the terrace of the house or in the living room. The lanterns are shaped like pineapples.

Mei hwa Flowers
Mei hwa flowers are one of the home decorations usually used when welcoming Chinese New Year celebrations. These bright pink or red flowers usually bloom in China during spring, so they are widely used as accessories to beautify the home. However, in Indonesia, they are usually made of plastic. Even so, these flowers are widely used to decorate the home during Chinese New Year celebrations.

You can decorate meihwa flowers with other decorations such as hanging small red round lanterns or red pineapples, small oranges, and angpao (typical Chinese New Year money envelopes). Mei hwa flowers can be placed in the living room or dining room at home.

You can use various Chinese New Year decorations with shio decorations. Such as lanterns or wall hangings. You can also put decorations in the form of dolls or small shio statues in the living room.
