Small Bedroom Decorating Tricks for Teens

The bedroom is an area that must be designed as comfortable as possible because it is a place to rest after doing activities. This is also included in designing a teenager’s room. To decorate teenager’s bedroom, the size of the room is not a problem, because the right way to decorate it will make the small space more stylish. The first thing to do in decorating teenager’s bedroom is to know what the child likes. Teenagers prefer a contemporary look that works very well in small spaces. However, if your teen likes other looks it can be customized too.

Proposition
The trick to making the most of a small room is to consider proportions. If your teen likes curved lines, let him have a canopy bed frame, but keep the rest of the furniture clean and simple. Choose softer colors and smaller prints to balance the design. If your teen likes modern style, let them have some bold colors and patterns to liven up the contemporary style.

Functional Furniture
Furniture that can function more than one is especially useful in a small teen’s bedroom. If your teen has a television in his bedroom, hang it on the wall instead of placing it on a dresser or stand. Sofas and daybeds can often work well in a teenager’s room. Regardless of what type of mattress to sleep on, make sure you provide the best mattress for your growing teen’s body.

Avoid Too Many Bold Colors
Most teens prefer bold colors, but too light or bold colors can feel overwhelming in a small space. Try applying a bold color to an accent wall and repeating the coordinating color around the room in small amounts. The floor is great place to add color. Dark colored rugs can help coat a small bedroom. Try a rug with boldly printed accents to add texture to your teen’s little bedroom. As well as adding designs or murals to the ceiling can add different element to a small bedroom, and give your teen something beautiful to look at before they fall asleep in a sweet dream.

Forget the Table
Most teens think they need a desk, but it can be a clutter catcher that isn’t always used. Many teens secretly prefer to study in bed or on the floor, so don’t feel like you have to provide a desk. A small sliding computer desk that can double as a bedside table might work well, or you may find that your teen doesn’t need one at all.

Maximize Storage
Storage is something that teens really need, especially in small spaces. Choose furniture that maximizes storage, such as shelves or beds that have built-in storage underneath. Find a place to add extra storage, such as along the top of a door frame, behind a bed, or hanging from the ceiling.
