The living room and family room are the first rooms to be decorated, especially welcoming big celebrations such as Eid al-Fitr. The reason is, the two rooms are the place of the events and welcome guests. However, actually, there is another room that also needs to cleaned. It is the bathroom. This vital space is also important to decorated and kept clean. This is because the bathroom is a busy room that guests can access, especially during Eid.
Even so, in fact the bathroom is one of the most dreaded rooms to clean. In fact, cleaning the bathroom is easy to do because almost all bathroom surfaces are impermeable to stains and resistant to cleaning products. Bathrooms should thoroughly cleaned at least once a week to reduce bacteria growth and odors.
You can clean your bathroom daily or weekly. For daily, cleaning the bathroom only takes less than five minutes every day, while weekly cleaning will take 15-20 minutes. To welcome Idul Fitri and create a clean home, here’s how to clean the bathroom in no time:
Remove some items from the bathroom.
Your bathroom will be easier to clean if you remove some items. Here’s the first step to cleaning the bathroom.
- Pick up any towels, mats or laundry on the floor and place them in the basket.
- Clean the dresser as much as possible.
- Collect and remove product in the shower or along the edge of the tub.
- Get rid of trash cans and decorative items.
Start with dry and top part
Removing loose dust and dirt from surfaces will ease the bathroom cleaning process. No need to push that dirt. Here are the ways:
- Use a disposable duster to clean bathroom lights and fans.
- Remove dust from the shower rod or the top of the lid and towel rail.
- Clean window sills, door sills and trim, and baseboards.
- Clean the top of the toilet tank, shelves and countertops.
- Sweep or vacuum the floor to remove hair and adhering dirt.
Let the cleaning product do the work
You don’t need to scrub too much if you let the cleaning product do its job first. Cleaning products need time to work before you start scrubbing.
- Spray the cleaning product on the shower and bathtub, then leave it for a few minutes so the cleaner can start the process of breaking the bond between the soap scum and the surface.
- Next, to clean the bathroom is to add toilet cleaner to the toilet bowl.
Clean every bathroom surface
- Start by cleaning your vanity, sink, and faucet with an all-purpose bathroom cleaner and a microfiber cloth. Don’t forget to check and clean the front of the dresser or sink for stains and dirt. Replace any product you remove before starting cleaning.
- Use glass cleaner and a lint-free microfiber cleaner to clean the mirror.
- After that, go back to cleaning the shower or tub, then scrub the walls, floor/tub, and plumbing fixtures. Then, rinse everything clean. Don’t forget to clean the shower glass cover. Use a squeegee or a towel to dry it completely so that there are no water spots. Replace any shower products you removed before you cleaned the area.
- Now, scrub the toilet. Use a brush and scrub the bowl and under the rim of the bowl. Use disinfectant wipes to clean the handle, seat, and outside of the toilet.
Scrub the bathroom floor
Use a suitable floor cleaner to clean your bathroom floor (wood, ceramic and natural stone) and mop the floor. After that, let the cleaner dry, then replace trash cans, towels, and freshly washed bathroom rugs.
