Window Treatments You Should Know

Windows are an often overlooked feature of a room and serve as a finishing touch that helps a room feel unified. Windows have a double function, they are aesthetic function and benefit. In its manufacture, it is measured with consideration so that light can enter optimally. So, how do you care for your windows to keep them looking good? As with other home maintenance, care for the window is in order not to be rough when you open or close it. Of course, there are differences in window treatments. It depends on the materials used.

Windows are easy to clean but can be damaged if you ignore it. Proper window treatment will not only save you from expensive repairs, but also contribute to energy efficiency, sound insulation, and a comfortable living environment.

One of the best and easiest steps to take to ensure your home’s windows function properly is to clean the panels and frames. Dirty window glass can damage the glass, and dirt that gets into it can cause mold to grow which is dangerous to health. And of course, dirty windows can ruin the beauty of your home.

Cleaning the inside window panes is quite easy. Use a store-bought cleaner and spray it. You can also use a combination of vinegar (10%) and water (90%). Then, choose a rubber rag or microfiber cloth to wipe up the spray. Avoid using paper towels or regular towels, as they usually leave streaks or residue.

Cleaning exterior window panes would be more difficult, but it is not impossible. The same cleaning strategies as interior window panes apply. Do not use a hose to spray windows. Hose water usually contains natural minerals in it. It can cause your window panes to wear more quickly and can leave mineral residue on the panes, meaning you’ll have to wash it again. If you can’t reach it, don’t try to clean it yourself. Put your safety first! If you cannot comfortably reach a dirty window, contact a professional. Having clean windows is not worth it if you fall off the roof or stairs!
