{"id":1604,"date":"2013-08-14T11:41:49","date_gmt":"2013-08-14T06:11:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/indonesia-furniture.com\/news\/2013\/08\/14\/ags-office-no-fraud-by-davenport-furniture-store\/"},"modified":"2013-08-14T11:41:49","modified_gmt":"2013-08-14T06:11:49","slug":"ags-office-no-fraud-by-davenport-furniture-store","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/indonesia-furniture.com\/articles\/ags-office-no-fraud-by-davenport-furniture-store\/","title":{"rendered":"AG&#039;s office: No fraud by Davenport furniture store"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>DAVENPORT, Iowa Dozens of customers who have not received their furniture from a failed Davenport business will likely have to seek refunds through a court.<br \/>\n                        <!--adsense--><br \/>\n\t\t <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Evans Furniture, which closed its locations in Waterloo and Davenport in June, was investigated by authorities after several customers complained they had not received the items they had purchased.<\/p>\n<p>After reviewing numerous documents and interviewing retired owner Jack Evans and his daughter Angela Evans, the Iowa attorney general&#8217;s office has concluded there was no fraudulent activity.<\/p>\n<p>A-G spokesman Bob Brammer says the company intended to deliver the furniture but fell on hard times.<\/p>\n<p>Brammer says the company will likely file for bankruptcy and debtors will have a claim in court.<\/p>\n<p>Customers who purchased furniture with a credit or debit card can dispute the charges through the card issuer.
