Her seminar, entitled \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Courting Convertible Consumers: Maxing Out the Small Space Market,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d will look into the rapidly growing market of small space consumers, their challenges, wants and the areas they are desperately looking for direction in. This consumer group varies from the college student in a dorm room to the empty nester looking to downsize and everything in between.<\/p>\n<p>Langdon, who founded her company Libby Interiors in 2003 and served as the host\/designer of FOX makeover show \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Design Invasion\u00e2\u20ac\u009d in 2012, is often heard saying on \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Small Space, Big Style\u00e2\u20ac\u009d that dimensions only define the size of the space, not the style. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153No matter the square footage, design and functionality should never be comprised,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d says Langdon. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153You just have to get creative and make the most of the space you have.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>She believes that furniture manufacturers are beginning to tap into this trend but the need for stylish, convertible furniture that is also affordable is still there. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Based on my experience working with the small space consumer, I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m focused on design solutions that will be visually appealing, functional and will improve their lifestyle,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d says Langdon.<\/p>\n<p>Langdon grew up in High Point, North Carolina and both of her parents worked in the furniture industry. The Market is something she has grown up with her entire life. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m so excited to come back and present this seminar and actually be a part of the Market,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d says Langdon. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll be experiencing it from an entirely different angle. Of course I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll still be shopping for my current clients and it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s always so much fun to see the new items that are being introduced.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>Langdon is coming off a very busy summer in which she was chosen by Hamptons Cottages and Gardens to design a junior guest suite in their famed Idea House. The room was a favorite among visitors and even landed the cover of the September issue of the magazine.<\/p>\n<p>Langdon also completed a waterfront home in Rhode Island, a Hamptons vacation home in Sagaponack, New York and an apartment in New York City overlooking the Manhattan skyline. The apartment was featured on the cover of Decorating Spaces and in the New York Times\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Key\u00e2\u20ac\u009d magazine.<\/p>\n<p>Langdon\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s most recent projects have featured furniture pieces that are her own custom designs, everything from a bar to a bed. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve designed these pieces because they needed to serve a purpose in a specific space but I also wanted them to be pleasing to the eye and have some personality,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d said Langdon. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153I love beautiful things but they should also be able to be part of a casual lifestyle.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>Langdon will be speaking from 4:00pm to 5:00pm at the NHFA Retailer Resource Center.<\/p>\n<p>Editor\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Note: Libby Langdon is available for interviews during Market, please contact Sonja Olson at 202.466.3050 or Sonja@westinrinehart.com. Massimo was so impressed by her work he recently commissioned her to design the Massimo Bizzocchi showroom on Fifth Ave.<\/p>\n<p>Libby\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s designs always express the style of her clients and are frequently covered in national publications. Most recently, Libby has designed private residences in New York\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Sagaponack and Southampton as well as an apartment in New York City. She recently designed the Rhode Island ocean front home of PGA golfer Brad Faxon and is currently working on a private residence in Potomac, MD. She was also invited this past summer to be one of the featured designers of the Hamptons Cottages and Gardens 2013 Idea House in Watermill, NY where she designed a stunning guest suite.<\/p>\n<p>Libby is a regular contributor to the nation\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s top daily papers with designing, food and entertaining ideas.
