\n(CBS4) LAKEWOOD, Colo. A company in Lakewood is allowing customers to have their own piece of infamous corporate history at a fraction of the price.

\nOffice Liquidators is selling office furniture once owned by Enron and shipped from Houston.<\/p>\n
“It’s maybe not a glamorous piece of history but it is history,” said Dennis Meyer from Office Liquidators.<\/p>\n
When the energy company imploded leaving 5,000 employees out of work, the furniture was left behind, so Meyer saw an opportunity.<\/p>\n
“The name Enron, to be honest, I knew would attract attention and I also knew they would have good furniture and they do,” Meyer said.<\/p>\n
He bought three semi-trucks full of furniture and priced the pieces at what he considers a steal.<\/p>\n
A wall unit and a granite table top desk went for $1,899.<\/p>\n
“Our price is $1,899,” Meyer said. “We did some research and we know that the retail new was over $12,000.”<\/p>\n
A commercial leasing company bought 44 leather chairs at $179 a piece when they were originally $1,300.<\/p>\n
“I figured if anybody’s going to have nice chairs it’s going to be Enron,” said Ryan Wilson whose boss sent him from Boulder to make a deal.<\/p>\n
Office Liquidators expects to move the Enron items in less than 30 days. They figure they’ll sell to the curious, the cost minded and the collectors all itching for a corporate conversation piece.<\/p>\n
Office Liquidators wasn’t able to buy from the top floor Enron offices which belonged to Ken Lay and Jeff Skilling. Meyer said that furniture would most likely be eventually sold on eBay.<\/p>\n
