As ambassador and advocate of the hospital he will travel to various events during his term spreading the message of Duke Children\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Hospital &#038; Health Center. \u00c2\u00a0Hinshaw has led Kingsdown to raise more than $1 million for children\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s hospitals in the United States and Canada. \u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Hinshaw joins a prestigious list of business leaders from the Triangle community and across the United States. \u00c2\u00a0The Duke Children\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s National Board of Advisors works year-round on behalf of the young patients at Duke Children\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Hospital &#038; Health Center to ensure philanthropic goals are reached.<\/p>\n<p>Hinshaw has been Chairman of the Board and chief executive officer of Kingsdown Inc. since 1981. \u00c2\u00a0A native of Mebane, N.C., Hinshaw graduated from Duke University in 1971 with a bachelor\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s degree in management science. An avid supporter of Duke University, he is a member of the Advisory Board of the Fuqua School of Business as well as winner of the university\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Charles A. Duke Award.
