\nSOUTHINGTON, Conn.\u00c2\u00a0— Pilgrim Furniture City here celebrated the opening of its Grand Interiors section with a private party for 300 guests.

\nThe new area features a series of fully accessorized lifestyle displays, from trendy to traditional. Grand Interiors showcases furniture at higher price points than Pilgrim’s typical midpriced offerings.<\/p>\n
Earlier this year, the single-unit retailer added 30,000 square feet of showroom space, bringing its total display area to 54,000 square feet. The $3 million expansion and renovation made Pilgrim Furniture City one of the largest furniture retailers in Connecticut. The showroom entrance incorporates a full-scale fa\u00c3\u00a7ade of a New England-inspired home.<\/p>\n
The store includes a carousel, cafe and theater. Including warehouse and other space, Pilgrim’s facility is 160,000 square feet.<\/p>\n
The renovation and expansion was designed by Connie Post.<\/p>\n
