\nA fourth-generation leader of the 80-year-old Top 100 company, Rodney Finger will guide the business as it consolidates two distribution centers, relocates its corporate office and opens three new full-line stores.<\/p>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Rodney is an accomplished retail professional with a track record of success in every capacity he has held at the company,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Robert Finger said. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153He is completely dedicated to the future of Finger Furniture.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
In 11 years with the company, Rodney Finger held management positions in credit and customer service and has been a store manager, bedding buyer, assistant to the president and most recently, chief operating officer and executive vice president.<\/p>\n
He serves on the National Home Furnishings Assn. board and is a former chairman of NHFA\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s industry technology committee. He\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s also a board member of the Houston Furniture Bank, a non-profit organization that collects and distributes home furnishings to people in need.<\/p>\n
Finger Furniture has six stores in the Houston area and is No. 34 on Furniture\/Today\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s survey of Top 100 U.S. furniture stores with estimated sales last year of $258 million.<\/p>\n
Earlier this fall, Finger Furniture announced plans to open several 100,000-square-foot stores in Houston by 2016 and up to a dozen Ashley Furniture HomeStores over the next few years.<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Without question, we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve mapped out the most aggressive growth plan in the history of the company to more than double our business,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Robert Finger said.<\/p>\n
In May, the company will consolidate its two warehouse and distribution centers into the first phase of a planned 500,000-square-foot distribution facility in Sugar Land, Texas, capable of housing more than $50 million in inventory. The facility will more than double the number of bays found at the company\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s current distribution centers.<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153We will house more inventory, move merchandise faster and deliver a better product to our customers with more same-day and next-day delivery,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Rodney Finger said.<\/p>\n
