\nWAIKELE (KHNL) – It was quite a scene in Waikele today where hundreds of shoppers gathered outside Ashley Furniture.

\nThe store closed two weeks ago, but reopened today for a liquidation sale.<\/p>\n
For more than 6 hours, shoppers waited outside the store.<\/p>\n
“There’s a couch in there we like, can’t get it anywhere else,” said Rainer Domingo, shopper.<\/p>\n
But not everyone’s looking for a deal. Customers who already paid for furniture, want answers.<\/p>\n
“Now there’s a whole line of people here looking for a bargain and I don’t think it’s fair that they should get the bargain when we’re just trying to get our money back,” said Leilani Cordes, customer.<\/p>\n
More than a dozen police officers keep the situation under control.<\/p>\n
“The potential for disruption was there,” said Lt. Ben Ballesteros with the Honolulu Police Dept.<\/p>\n
Finally at 12:30p.m. the doors open.<\/p>\n
While some people hunt for bargains, customers who already paid cash but didn’t receive their merchandise, look for other items. McClain Auctions is helping with the liquidation sale.<\/p>\n
“There’s all kinds of investigations going on, hopefully some of these people will get their money back. But this merchandise, even if we wanted to, we couldn’t give them what they wanted. It’s not here,” said Marty McClain, owner of the auction company.<\/p>\n
He says the inventory is worth more than $2 million, but everything’s selling for at least 30% off.<\/p>\n
Shoppers who paid by credit and didn’t receive their merchandise are being forced to deal with this issue, with their credit card company.<\/p>\n
