\nARCHDALE, N.C. \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Bedding sales leader Sealy is making a move to lower bedding warranties.

\nThe producer announced that its redesigned promotional Sealy brand line, set to be introduced at the Las Vegas Market next month, will carry a three-year warranty. That line includes nine models that will be priced below $700.<\/p>\n
Sealy described the introduction of a three-year warranty \u00e2\u20ac\u201c compared to the 10-year warranties or longer that are common in the industry \u00e2\u20ac\u201c as \u00e2\u20ac\u0153an industry-leading move.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
Said Philip Dobbs, senior vice president of Sealy marketing: \u00e2\u20ac\u0153We are excited about the change to a three-year warranty for the Sealy line. Our Sealy promotional line has great consumer appeal based on the quality and the incredible value we can offer them. Our research indicates that consumers will not have concerns with this new three-year warranty, while the retail trade should embrace this move. In fact, retailers and industry experts have been clamoring for changes to warranties for years.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
Sealy said the new promotional line will feature higher profiles, improved feels and will be compliant with new fire-resistant standards by May.<\/p>\n
The producer said that following the introduction of its 125th Limited Edition Anniversary beds, sales of the Sealy-branded line grew significantly this year.<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153This was a great year for our value segment,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Dobbs said. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153There is a large consumer base that shops on a regular basis for mattresses in the $500 price range. We believe this value segment offers a nice incremental growth opportunity for Sealy.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
Sealy plans to build on that success next year with the introduction of a new version of the 125th anniversary mattress that will become part of the permanent collection. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Retailers recognize the success of the 125th models and we believe they will respond positively to this new lineup,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d said Mark Delahanty, vice president of Sealy marketing.<\/p>\n
