\nWALKERTON, Ontario \u00e2\u20ac\u201d Adam Hofmann, who has been
\n\t\t
\ngeneral manager of Bogdon & Gross Furniture for the past four years, has purchased the 80-year-old case goods producer from the Bogdon family.<\/p>\n
Since its founding in 1927, three generations of the Bogdon and Gross families have produced solid-wood bedroom, dining room and occasional furniture for residential and special-order contract customers.
\nHofmann became president when the deal closed Dec. 1. Terms were not disclosed.<\/p>\n
He succeeds Barbara Bogdon, who was president since the retirement in 1990 of George Bogdon, who had held the post since 1944. His father and uncle founded the company in 1927.<\/p>\n
Hofmann joined Bogdon & Gross in late 2002.<\/p>\n
“We’ve brought in a lean manufacturing system and new technologies, introduced significant operational changes and gained support from both local financing and our sales representatives across Canada,” Hofmann said.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n
“The company has reinvented itself and is developing new product for more affluent consumers who demand heirloom quality,” he added.<\/p>\n
He said that with 100,000 square feet of manufacturing space, room for expansion on the 16-acre site, its own drying kilns, a local lumber supply and an experienced workforce, “the company is well positioned for growth.”<\/p>\n
Hofmann said the company will introduce a number of new collections at the Canadian Home Furnishings Market in Toronto Jan. 13-16.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
