\n1. Painted Table
\nJazz up your kitchen table with a diamond pattern. Lay strips of painter\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s tape diagonally across the table, making sure each strip is the same distance from the next so the pattern is symmetrical. Repeat with diagonals running in the opposite direction to form the diamonds, then simply paint the spaces not covered in tape. Once paint is dry to the touch, slowly peel the tape away from the surface to reveal your masterpiece.

\n2. Antique Hallstand
\nAntiquing is a simple way to improve any secondhand piece of furniture, even a mirrored hallstand. To create the charm of a bygone era, apply several coats of different paint colors to the surface. Then sand and chip the paint in corners to reveal the underlying colors. Distressing the furniture with chains and hammers will enhance the sense of age.<\/p>\n
3. Colorful Storage Chest
\nAccentuate an intricate piece of furniture by colorfully painting its details. To achieve the look of this chest, cover the entire piece in a vibrant blue, then gild the carvings, using painter\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s tape to get a straight edge. To add a hint of red, lightly paint over joints, then wipe away with a rag before dry. The red will seep into any carved details. You can also paint the top edges of doors and drawers for a red shadow.<\/p>\n
4. Sailboat Cabinet
\nMake a one-of-a-kind creation by painting a coastal scene on wooden furniture. If you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re not artistically inclined, you can achieve the same look by using posters to create a realistic mural. Simply glue (with water-based paste) the poster to a piece of furniture and use a roller to flatten out any air bubbles.
