Furniture Brands International Reaffirms Expectations for 2nd-Quarter Earnings

\n on Wednesday reaffirmed its second-quarter earnings outlook and said it expects “slightly positive” sales despite a seasonally tough market.

\nThe company — whose furniture brands include Lane, Thomasville and Broyhill — reiterated its plan for per-share earnings of 29 cents to 33 cents, including 3 cents in restructuring charges and 3 cents of increased interest expense.<\/p>\n
Analysts polled by Thomson Financial see profit of 36 cents per share, excluding one-time charges.<\/p>\n
Furniture Brands characterized the quarter as a “seasonally challenging period for furniture retailing.” The company is slated to report second-quarter results July 26.<\/p>\n
