\nThe members of the Vermont Fine Furniture and Wood Products Industry have announced their participation in the July Las Vegas Furniture Market,
\n
\nto take place in Las Vegas from July 25th through the 28th at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
\n
\nIn August 2012, the Vermont Council on Rural Development (VCRD) received funding through a grant from the US Economic Development Administration (EDA) for a marketing and design project. This project is intended to help address the opportunities and threats faced by the industry and to expand sales and increase employment in VT value-added forest products businesses. VCRD envisions this systematic marketing and design campaign to have five features:<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2 Marketing the Vermont Wood Products Brand<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2 Building VT Forest Products Presence at Lodging Facilities<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2 Factory Tours, Open Studios, and other Demonstration Sites<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2 Trade Show Support<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2 Annual Showcase and Design Competition for Vermont Wood Products.<\/p>\n
This Grant, obtained with to the help and support of Senator Jeffords, is allowing Vermont furniture manufacturers access and exposure to a worldwide market that normally would be out of reach.<\/p>\n
Their 2000 sq. ft. exhibit, a freestanding pavilion, will be a reflection of Vermont furniture and accessories manufacturing. Producers ranging from the smallest one-man art furniture companies to large companies employing a hundred or more will be exhibiting. Vermont food products will be featured as well, such as Cabot Cheese and Vermont Maple Products. Vermont Teddy Bears will be given away as door prizes.<\/p>\n
The organizers hope to make this a permanent event,<\/p>\n
