DOC delays release of antidumping review

Analyzes export activities of certain Chinese manufacturers

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Department of Commerce is delaying release of preliminary results of this year’s administrative review of antidumping duties until Jan. 31.

The DOC originally planned to release the results Oct. 3, which was 245 days from the time the reviews began in January. A 120-day extension is allowed by law, with final results due 120 days after that, which would make them available by early June 2014.

The review analyzes the export activities of certain Chinese wood bedroom furniture manufacturers, and allows U.S. furniture makers to request a review of any Chinese company they believe is illegally exporting furniture to the United States below cost. It also allows Chinese companies to request a lower duty.

The current review covers shipments between June 24, 2004, and Dec. 31, 2012.
