PLANO — The World Furniture Mall here is betting on the Bears again.


This Thanksgiving weekend, the store is offering to refund every furniture purchase — up to $10,000 per customer — if the Chicago Bears shut out the Green Bay Packers during their season-finale on Dec. 31.

Over the Labor Day weekend, store owner Randy Gonigam made the same offer, and wound up refunding nearly $300,000 in purchases to his customers when the Bears blanked the Packers in September.

“I hadn’t planned on doing this again so soon, but everywhere I went people kept asking me when I was going to repeat the offer. I figured, what better time than when Chicago is having a spectacular season?” Gonigam said.
