Furniture Today,
CALHOUN, Ga. — Rizzy Rugs is expanding its U.S.
presence with a leased warehouse here.
CEO Rizwan Ansari said the warehouse will help the company service existing container customers and attract new ones.
Rizzy will be showing new collections at the Atlanta rug market, Jan. 18 to 21. The company will show in the second floor temporary exhibit hall, spaces 800-802.
In spring 2014, Rizzy Rugs will open a 4,500-square-foot showroom on the third floor of Showplace in High Point.
Much of the company’s past growth has been in the European market. In recent years, Ansari began working with domestic furniture retailers to develop customized products for the U.S. market.
The company’s rugs are all produced in India. The collections include contemporary, casual and traditional tufted designs as well as Indo Tibetan and hand-knotted pieces.Â
“Our goal is to provide enough variety in design and price points that buyers can fulfill much of their needs in one location,†said Ansari.
In addition to Rizzy Rugs, the Calhoun warehouse and High Point showroom will share space with HomeTex, a sister company that produces top-of-the-bed textiles such as bedding and throw pillows. Many of the two companies’ lines coordinate with one another.
Home Tex is headed by Shamsu Ansari, Riswan Ansari’s brother.
Both Rizzy Rugs and HomeTex will operate under the umbrella of RizTex, a newly formed U.S. corporation.
