Thompson Interior Design, owned and operated by Patty Thompson of Sioux City, is partnering with Jackson
Recovery Centers for a furniture donation program. People who are in the process of remodeling and have gently used furniture they no longer need, can donate to this program.
“In my business, I continually come across people who are moving or purchasing new furniture and don’t know what to do with their used furniture,” says Patty Thompson. “The furniture is still in great shape and they feel bad about throwing it away. Now they can see their furniture be put to good use by giving it to this very worthy organization.”
Jackson Recovery Centers operates several facilities including residential programs and transitional housing for people in recovery. Men. women and families will live in these facilities until stable enough to move into their own residence. “So often out patients are in situations where they own no furniture of their own,” says Robin Bollinger, director of development at Jackson Recovery Centers. “To be able to provide these families with nice, clean furniture they can call their own is truly a gift to help start out their new life.”
Persons who are interested in donating furniture can call Bollinger at (712) 234-2383. Jackson Recovery Centers will arrange for pick-up of the furniture as well as provide a letter for proof of a tax-deductible donation. The program will be able to accept furniture only such as couches, chairs, end tables, coffee tables, beds and storage units. No other items such as clothing, appliances and house wares will be able to be picked up.
