MUMBAI: Mumbai-based Universal Expositions, in association with trade fair organiser Koelmesse of Germany, will organise the seventh edition of the ‘Index International Furniture Fair’ in Mumbai from October 18-22.

In December, the company would organise the fourth instalment of the exposition in New Delhi, Universal Expositions Group, president, Liyakat Ali Khan said.


Khan said the fair would have over 200 participants, including renowned brands from Italy such as door manufacturer Effebiquattro and other big names from Brazil, Germany, Malaysia, China, Thailand and Taiwan.

In India, there was tremendous demand for furniture especially with the growth in sectors such as construction, real estate, hospitality, he said.

In FY06, the imported furniture market in India was worth USD 152.43 million, Khan added.
