A New York credit company filed suit Wednesday against Kornmeyer’s, seeking payment for $110,878 in allegedly unpaid bills.

CIT Group/Commercial Services Inc. filed the suit in federal court in Baton Rouge. The company claims Kornmeyer’s is overdue with payment to six furniture manufacturers.


Kornmeyer’s abruptly announced last month the 127-year-old home furnishings company will close before the end of the year. The company blamed the decision on the financial fallout from a failed computer software conversion.
