He worked for Stanley, Serta, Huffman Koos, Mattress Cowboy and Mattress Discounters
PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. — Mark Montemurno, industry veteran and most recently a sales representative for Stanley in South Florida, has died after a battle with cancer. He was 43.
Montemurno got his start in the industry in 1990 with specialty retailer Mattress Discounters, where he worked as a salesman in northern New Jersey, then store manager and finally district manager.
After leaving in 1995, he held management posts with various retailers, including Mattress Cowboy in East Brunswick, N.J., where he was general manager, and Huffman Koos, also in East Brunswick, where he was a general manager.
He went on to become the bedding buyer for Huffman Koos parent Breuners Home Furnishings Corp. in Lancaster, Pa., until summer 2004. He then worked briefly as a rep for Serta in Lancaster before joining Stanley.
Survivors include his wife, two sons, parents, two sisters and three brothers. One of the brothers, Paul Montemurno, is a rep for Serta in Lancaster.
