Box Furniture setting up in the Mill

Furniture Today,
HIGH POINT – Box Furniture, an importer of case

goods and wall décor, has signed a lease for the first permanent showroom in the Mill on Centennial, a historic downtown structure that recently was renovated.

The 2,000-square-foot space also is Box Furniture’s first permanent showroom in High Point.

“The Mill on Centennial is the perfect setting to properly showcase Box’s line with its global influences and strong architectural design elements,” said Nancy Hyer, the company’s director of operations.

“In searching for a new High Point space, our goal was to find a facility that reflected the classic yet modern feel of our collections,” she added.

The company, whose products are sourced from Indonesia, had been in a temporary space in the International Home Furnishings Center’s Interhall since 2004.

Hyer said she was impressed with the renovation by building owner Wayne McDonald, who also owns the Hamilton Square showroom building and several other downtown properties.

“We couldn’t have asked for a better first exhibitor,” McDonald said. We are convinced their presence will be an incentive for other forward-thinking home furnishings companies to join with us and share our vision.”
