Boy injured at furniture shop

TOWN OF RUSSELL — A 3-year-old boy was airlifted to Madison Friday night after an accident at a furniture shop.

Around 5 p.m., town of Russell First Responders, Lincoln County Emergency Medical Services and a deputy responded to a small furniture shop just outside the town of Gleason.

According to reports, a man was using a rip saw when his son placed a hand on the power feed conveyer belt. The belt pulled the boy’s hand down into the machine causing injury.

The boy was transported to Good Samaritan Health Center in Merrill and later airlifted to the level one trauma center at UW-Madison Hospitals and Clinics. His injuries are not life threatening.
