Call 4 Action Follow-Up: Still Waiting For Furniture Or Refund

On Thursday night, WTAE Channel 4 Action News aired a Call 4 Action report about a

couple who paid for a set of new furniture nine months ago but never got it.

Since that story about Hampton House Furniture aired, Call 4 Action reporter Aaron Saykin has heard from many viewers — one of whom is offering a helping hand.

Almost immediately after Call 4 Action confronted the owner of Hampton House Furniture — the company where Linda and Derek Zabierowksy paid for a new sofa and love seat last April but never got them — Saykin began hearing from other angry customers.

In an e-mail to ThePittsburghChannel.com, one local man said his experience at Hampton House was so similar, “I thought the story was about me.”

The Zabierowskys said the owner promised them a refund in December — but, like the sofa and love seat they ordered, it never came.

This time, the owner told Call 4 Action off-camera that it would come by next week.

“It’s a long time coming. It would be greatly appreciated,” Linda Zabierowsky said.

She may not have to wait. After Saykin’s story aired, Call 4 Action received an unsolicited e-mail from a Roomful Express Furniture executive who wrote, “I would like to offer the Zabierowskys $1,000 of credit at any of our stores…”

“My husband and I were both speechless,” Linda Zabierowsky said. “We are so thankful and grateful. God bless them.”
