SWEET SPRINGS, Mo. – Eastman House, whose slogan
was “quality bedding since 1866,†has closed its bedding factory here, sources say.
The producer, which signed as a Therapedic licensee earlier this year and had previously been a King Koil licensee, closed in September, the sources said.
Owner Phil Sexauer, with LakeParkCapital in Deerfield, Ill., had no comment.
Eastman House was one of the oldest names in the bedding industry.
Gerry Borreggine, Therapedic president, said his group signed Eastman House because it had an open territory in Missouri. “We rolled the dice,†he said. “It was a long shot, and we crapped out.â€
Therapedic is now looking for a producer to serve that part of the country, Borreggine added.
