MORGANTON, N.C. — Four Truckers, a specialized home furnishings transportation company based here, has more than


doubled the size of its Los Angeles Service Center at 13280 Amar St. in City of Industry, Calif.

Carl Abernathy, vice president, said growth in the company’s Southern California business in the past year prompted the expansion to 100,000 square feet from 45,000 square feet.

He said the facility serves importers and domestic manufacturers. It offers import container drayage, receiving, warehousing, trans-loading and inventory management, along with distribution to 11 Western states. Its technology includes radio-frequency barcode scanning and tracking.

With the expansion, Four Truckers has 280,000 square feet of warehouse space on the West Coast in City of Industry and Stockton, Calif., and Tacoma, Wash.
