HIGH POINT — A furniture importer is considering a north High Point site for a major distribution facility that could provide 120 new jobs.
Legacy Classic Furniture, a company that manufactures furniture overseas,
is considering a 307,000 square-foot distribution center and 40,000 square-foot office at Premier Center, one of the newest office parks in north High Point on Penny Road.
The High Point City Council could consider offering the company $305,000 in economic incentives to locate its distribution center in north High Point on Monday night at 5:30 p.m. If High Point is selected, the company could invest about $18 million in the center.
The company is leasing a warehouse in eastern Guilford County for its operations. Legacy Classic is a subsidiary of Samson Holding. Universal Furniture, another subsidiary of Samson, opened a distribution center in north High Point in 2002.
