A red and white sign denotes the presence of a new business on Highway 16 in West Salem.
Taking over the former Hometown Furniture building is a store selling the same type of goods, at a lower price.
Furniture Deals and Steals is now occupying the site. Manager Bill Klabunde said the new store has a different concept for furniture sales. The store offers sofas, recliners, mattresses, foutons and other items.
The products come from an assortment of different venues including showroom samples and factory closeouts.
The showroom constantly changes, said Klabunde.
The price tag may be a little different than what most consumers expect to see. Klabunde said the first price is what buyers can expect to pay in a regular furniture store, the second price is the sale price, which what that store would charge and the third is dubbed the deal and steal price.
Furniture Deals and Steals is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday noon to 5 p.m.
