Some 85% of the space available for the International Furniture and Design Exhibition & Awards (INFDEX ’09) has been sold out and the expo has grown by 30% to reach 100 stands this year, a spokesman for the organisers yesterday said.
A Qatar Expo official said INFDEX ’09 would bring all the glamour and excitement of European and Asian interior design shows to Qatar.
“And with the interior design market in most developed countries still suffering the effects of the global financial crisis, INFDEX ‘09 gives ambitious interior designers and furniture manufacturers the perfect business opportunity to penetrate the booming Qatari interior design market.”
INFDEX ’09, Qatar’s largest interior design and home furniture exhibition will be officially opened by HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani, giving support to the Qatari interior design market and its important contribution to the Qatari economy.
“INFDEX ’09 places doing business at the core of the event. This year we are introducing a number of features to help the interior design industry maximise opportunities in a difficult business environment,” says Qatar Expo Chief Operating Officer, Georges Saliba.
The latest confirmed INFDEX ’09 exhibitors include Bo Concept, Living Spirit (www.livinggalery.com), IDS Group (Interior Design Services), New Art Overseas, Milano International for Trading & Industry and B5 Design (www.b5designqatar.com)
European interior designer Ligne Roset has chosen INFDEX ’09 to unveil its new 2017 collection.
“The record 100 exhibitors expected at INFDEX ’09 are encouraged to demonstrate their creativity and imagination as the exclusive INFDEX Creative Awards – presented by International Design Guru Aziz Rebeiz – are presented for the second successive year.”
Four prizes will be presented at the glittering INFDEX ’09 Gala Dinner to winners of the Best Eco-Friendly Design Stand (sponsored by Qatar Today), Best Innovative Designed Stand, Best Use of Stand Space and Best Young Designer awards. INFDEX ’09 will be sponsored for the second year by Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company.
