A West Michigan chair manufacturer will move 93 jobs to Greenville from China as local tax breaks, greater production efficiencies and the diminished value of the U.S. dollar help to offset the higher labor costs.
ZERO1 LLC could begin hiring as early as December, but the company apparently isn’t yet accepting resumes, WOOD-TV reported this afternoon. ZERO1 makes office, residential and marine seating.
The jobs will be added over the next two or three years, and the company also plans to relocate its design office and headquarters to Greenville from Kent County’s Ada Township.
The new offices and manufacturing will be housed in the Clarion Technologies building. Clarion, a plastics injection molding company, also plans to add 52 jobs in the next three years after winning tax exemptions from the city.
