In an effort to help the environment and educate, furniture manufacturer Harden Furniture is heading up the Living Canopy Project, a fundraising and awareness initiative to be held March 27 during the Spring High Point Market in High Point, North Carolina. A partnership with the Camden High School Science Department in Camden, New York, and the State University of New York, College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY-ESF), in Syracuse, New York, the initiative will fund a land and water cleanup project in upstate New York.
For the project, Harden tapped metal artist Brian Hibbard of Greensboro, North Carolina. Hibbard’s sculptural 30-pound steel tree will be raffled off during the Spring Market Raffle. Harden will match raffle proceeds and donate the total amount to the school program. The winner can either have the sculpture delivered to a location of their choice or donate it to Camden High School.
Â
Raffle tickets will be available for purchase in Harden’s showroom at 200 N. Hamilton.

Last year, Harden’s environmental efforts were acknowledged by New York State, when former New York Governor George Pataki appointed firm president Greg Harden president of the New York State Environmental Board.
