JAMESTOWN, N.C. — Industry veteran Randol Smith, most recently vice president of sales and marketing at manufacturer Kemp Enterprises , died Thursday morning at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C.
Smith, who was 56, fought a yearlong battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Arleen, and two daughters.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at Cumby Family Funeral Service, 1015 Eastchester Drive, High Point. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Jamestown United Methodist Church in Jamestown, N.C.
Smith joined Kemp Enterprises five years ago as vice president of sales and marketing. Over time he added product development to his responsibilities.
Before joining Kemp, he spent 10 years with importer Universal Furniture. Earlier, he worked for manufacturer Bernhardt Furniture and coatings manufacturer Akzo Nobel.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Randol H. Smith Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Jamestown United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 339, Jamestown, NC 27282.
