Admission is $6. Proceeds benefit the Warren County Historical Society’s museums.
A highlight of this year’s show is a special exhibit of western Shaker furniture and artifacts presented by Mary Allen, Curator of Shaker Collections for the Warren County Historical Society.
The seat of the western Shaker religion was located at Union Village (now Otterbein Home) just four miles west of Lebanon. Shaker missionaries from Union Village founded Shaker communities all over Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. Union Village was the second largest Shaker village in the country and by 1830 had a larger population than Hamilton.
The exhibit will feature several pieces of Union Village pottery recently acquired by the museum. Union Village was the only Shaker village to operate a pottery.
The Warren County Historical Society is known nationwide as a premier Shaker museum housing one of the largest collections of Shaker furniture, artifacts and manuscripts in the country.
The museum at 105 South Broadway in Lebanon is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Admission: adults, $5; seniors, age 65 and older, $4.50; students, ages 5 to 18, $3.50; family rate, $15 for parents with up to four children.
