— Furniture Today,
CARTHAGE, Mo. — Components and furniture supplier Leggett & Platt has hired two executives and promoted another in a continuing reorganization of its top ranks.
The company said the changes reflect its renewed emphasis on product development and the growth of its Commercial Vehicle Products platform, and fill vacancies created by the earlier promotions of David Haffner to CEO from chief operating officer, and Karl Glassman to chief operating officer from segment president.
Newly promoted is Paul Hauser, a senior vice president of the company, to president of the Residential Furnishings Segment, succeeding Glassman.
He reports to Glassman and has responsibility for the company’s three major residential groups: Bedding; Home Furniture; and Fabric, Foam & Fiber. Hauser has been with Leggett since 1980 and has headed the company’s bedding operations since 1999.
Leggett also has named a pair of 40-year-old twin brothers, Vincent and Elliott Lyons, to executive posts. They are accomplished managers and engineers, and shared the national 1989 Black Engineer of the Year Award.
Vincent Lyons was named to the newly created post of vice president of technology and development, based in Carthage and reporting to Glassman. He previously worked at General Motors, Lear, Visteon and Maytag, where he was vice president of research and development, and of engineering for refrigeration products.
Elliott Lyons is president of the Commercial Vehicle Products Group, which accounts for about 4% of L&P’s sales. He will be based in Atlanta and reports to Jack Crusa, president of the Specialized Products Segment. His previous employers include General Motors, United Technologies and International Truck & Engine.
Another recent appointment, announced earlier, was the promotion of Dennis Park to senior vice president of the company and president of the Commercial Fixturing & Components Segment, succeeding Haffner.
