Local attorney, furniture executive present at patent office

Thomasville Furniture Industries, are giving a presentation on patent strategy for the home furnishings industry Thursday at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in Washington, D.C.

The presentation is a part of the patent office’s Day of Design Dynamics event. More than 100 patent examiners are expected to be in attendance.

Hicks is an intellectual property law attorney in Womble Carlyle’s Greensboro office. In the furniture design area specifically, he has worked with hundreds of design patent applications and litigated several cases pertaining to patent infringement.

Rozenboom’s duties at Thomasville Furniture include overseeing the design and development of all products for the furniture brand. Thomasville is a division of Furniture Brands International, one of the world’s largest home furnishings companies.
