A local man posing as a good Samaritan preys on Hurricane
Katrina victims. Metro says the person volunteered a storage unit to hold furniture before it was shipped to the Gulf Coast.
The furniture came from the old Stardust Hotel and was supposed to be stored at a facility on Las Vegas Boulevard near Main Street.
The man offered to free up space for the furniture, but instead, police say he stole the items. Now, hundreds of families in the Gulf Coast will have to wait, while the company that bought the furniture is stuck with the bill.
Metro is looking for any information that can help solve this case. If you can help, call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
