Masonic Village Sends Furniture to Gulf Coast

Due to renovations on its campus, the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown has some extra furniture, ranging from sofas and recliners to dining room chairs.

In the past, the items would have been auctioned off to the community, but this year, they’ve been sent to the Gulf Coast to let last year’s Hurricane Katrina victims know that they’re not forgotten.

With employees, residents and some local companies donating their time, a shipment of the furniture was recently loaded and transported to Gulfport, Miss., according to a Masonic Village news release.
It arrived in Gulfport last week. In a separate shipment, state Rep. Tom Creighton and his wife Sandy donated a van with six personal computers, with the computers to go to a Gulfport school and the van to help with local assistance efforts.
Future trips are being planned, Masonic Village officials add.
