Masten names Rhodes president

Jeff Linville
HIGH POINT — Case goods importer Masten Furniture has named Keely Rhodes president, replacing Jim Harris, who left the company in July.

“Masten has had tremendous growth over the past year,” Rhodes said. “I look forward to the new and exciting challenges ahead.”

Rhodes most recently was director of national accounts at upholstery manufacturer J. Miles & Co. Earlier, he was national sales manager for KCB Enterprises, the Sealy futon licensee. At Masten, he will work with CEO Sonny Wheeler.

The company said it has signed a five-year lease with the Tupelo Furniture Market and will show there during the Aug. 16-19 market. Masten  will show in an 8,000-square-foot space in Building Six of the Tupelo complex.

The space is part of the former Vantage/Lee Inds. showroom. Two-thirds of the area went to Masten, with the other 4,000 square feet going to Master Design, which moved from across the hall to give Largo room to expand by  6,000 square feet.

“For the August market, we will only be showing our top- selling SKUs,” said Rhodes. Beginning in 2014, Masten also will make introductions in Tupelo.

“Since we are expanding our business, we will have territories available,” he added. “Potential representatives can meet with me at the market.”
