MebelExpo Uzbekistan 2013 opens on Thursday

Third Specialized Uzbek International Exhibition Furniture and Production Technology – MebelExpo Uzbekistan 2013 – will open in Tashkent on 1 June.

The exhibition, which will be held at UzExpoCentre, will allow specialist and visitors to acquaint with new furniture models for home and office, purchase furniture and establish partnership relations or sign agreement with manufacturers.

The event will also present wide range of equipment and spare-parts for furniture production.

The exhibition is organized by ITE Group Plc (Great Britain) and ITE Uzbekistan and it will wrap up spring exhibition season in Uzbekistan. Tashkent city administration, Fayz holding company and Uzbek Chamber of Commerce and Industry support the exhibition.

Some 20 companies from Belarus, Germany, Kazakhstan, Russia, Turkey, the Czech Republic, Ukraine and Uzbekistan are participating in the event.

Over 50% of companies represent Uzbekistan and 30% are representatives of Germany. The company said the area of the exhibition expanded 2.5 times this year, which shows great interest to the exhibition.

Mukarram Azimova, director-general of Fayz holding, said the Uzbek government pays special attention to development of furniture industry. She said the exhibition would present large assortment of furniture products.

She said over 500 enterprises in Tashkent specialises on furniture production and Fayz is the larger of them. Azimova said the company is studying experience of Italian companies and modernising furniture.

Azimova said the volume of internal production in Uzbekistan made up US$20 million. She said main problem of Uzbek furniture industry is dependence on import (70%) and the volume of Uzbek exports is too small.

Nigora Sarsenova, director-general of ITE Uzbekistan, said the MebelExpo Uzbekistan wraps up spring season of the exhibitions of ITE Uzbekistan. She said autumn season will be opened with TextileExpo Uzbekistan 2013, which will be held on 6-8 June. ITE Uzbekistan said it will organize InfoComExpo (19-21 September), TransUzbekistan (4-6 October), AutoMotorShow (3-6 October) and MiningWorld Uzbekistan (11-13 October) in autumn 2013 season along with TextileExpo (6-8 September).
